🌶️ She Came to Be Tasted

Barbados didn’t ask for her itinerary.

It asked for her appetite.

She booked the flight with one hand

and unhooked her bra with the other.

No luggage. Just lip gloss, coconut oil,

and a poem folded into her passport.

The customs officer asked,

“Business or pleasure?”

She smiled.

“Pleasure. Definitely pleasure.”

The ocean welcomed her like a lover—

warm, wet, and ready.

Rum on her tongue.

Salt on her thighs.

She sinned sweetly,

not out of rebellion, but reverence.

And the island joined in.

Reflection

This post is for every woman who’s ever been told to tone herself down, to schedule her fun, to keep her hunger hidden. Sometimes freedom isn’t in planning—it’s in surrender. Barbados isn’t just a beach escape; it’s a reminder that desire deserves a seat on the plane, a place at the table, and a dance under the stars.

Cultural Lens

Barbados pulses with rhythm and indulgence. From the soca beats of Oistins Fish Fry, to sipping Mount Gay rum under a mango tree, to midnight swims in Carlisle Bay, the island itself dares you to taste everything. It’s not just a destination—it’s an initiation.
